How long does it take to get from Albuquerque, NM to the Grand Canyon in Arizona?

I need to know how many hours. I am not sure what city the Grand Canyon National Park is in, but I am leaving from Albuquerque. Say I drive all the way there with no stops, going a steady rate of 60 miles per hour. Now answer?

  1. maybe 3 hours, take highway 40 west to Williams then turn North
  2. It will take quite a bit longer than three hours. The Grand Canyon National Park covers hundreds of square miles and is not in or near any one city. The most commonly visited spot in the park is Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim which is about 90 miles north of the town of Flagstaff, Arizona. Driving from Albuquerque to Flagstaff, Arizona along I-40 is 320 miles and takes about 4.5 hours going at the speed limit (75 mph most of the way). From Flagstaff, it is another 90 miles and 1.5 hours driving along US180 and AZ64 to get to the entrance of the park. Driving to the canyon from Williams only makes sense if you were coming from the west (LA). So the total driving distance (Albuquerque to Grand Canyon Village) is about 410 miles with a non-stop drive time of 5 to 6 hours depending on how fast you drive. If you were drive at a steady rate of 60mph (which is under the speed limit for the interstate) it would take you over 7 hours.
